Contest Overview

 The Washington Chapter of URISA (WAURISA) invites you to share your best

 Poster, Map, or Web Application 

at the 2020 Washington GIS Conference, May 18-21 at the Hotel Murano, Tacoma, WA

This year's poster presentation showcase will provide the opportunity to share and exhibit your creative talents, inspire your peers, and potentially earn some cash in the process! Fellow conference attendees will cast votes for their favorite entry in each category. The winners will receive Amazon gift card prizes!

Types of admissions accepted:

  • Maps and posters 

  • Online interactive map / app

  • Mobile Apps

Award Categories:

  • Best Cartographic Design

  • Best Analytic Presentation

  • Best Student Map

  • Best Online Interactive Web Map or App

How To Submit

Entries must be submitted through our online form and must meet guidelines outlined below. Submissions that do not meet these guidelines will not be displayed at the conference.

1. Submit your entry using the Poster and App Contest Submission form below 

Required information: Contestant name, Email, Submission Title, Submission Type, Description (abstract)

Entries must be submitted on or before May 8, 2020

2. Bring your Submission to the conference

Bring posters to the registration desk before noon on May 20, 2020, for display in the poster gallery

Poster size dimensions can be no larger than 48” x 96

Online Maps and Apps can be submitted as url's to mapcontest@waurisa.org

Posters are not allowed to be removed prior to 1:00 PM on Thursday, May 21. Posters left behind will not be returned. Entrants do not have to attend the conference; however, there is no guarantee their map or poster will be displayed in their absence.
