Cy Smith is the GIS Coordinator for the State of Oregon. He also serves as Past-President of NSGIC (National States Geographic Information Council), Chair of COGO (The Coalition of Geospatial Organizations), and he just concluded a three year term on the URISA Board of Directors.

2009 Presentation Guidelines
Presenters at the 2009 Washington GIS Conference will earn 1 GISCI Contribution
Point for Conference Presentation or Conference Poster Display in addition
to points earned for attending the conference and being a member of WAURISA.
Speakers: If your paper is chosen for presentation you may attend the
Monday workshops for only $10 with your regularly paid conference registration.
The conference will consist of half day workshops on Monday and seminar tracks on Tuesday and Wednesday. The workshops will be presented on Open Souce GIS, Designing Great Web Maps, Creating Fast Web Mapping Applications with JavaScript and Cartography & Map Production.

WAURISA, the Washington State Chapter of the Urban and Regional Information Systems Association, announces the third annual Richard "Dick" Thomas award. This award is established to honor Washington State GIS pioneer and mentor Richard ‘Dick’ Thomas, who passed away in 2006. The intent of this award is to honor Dick by continuing his work of encouraging students to excel in their studies and to transition successfully into careers in the field of GIS.
